Discussion on 3rd Cycle: The Choosing Rules & Resources
#21
On Turn 0 in non-Anon games, we get a listing of who plays which kingdom in the "Rulers in this Campaign" section. Is there any reason why that can't be reprinted on all turns rather than disappearing after Turn 0? Cause I'd sure like it!

Has anyone had issues with Nomads and movement points.

Are division sized groups supposed to have 22 or 20 points?

The rules say groups with brigades get 22 points.   Should it be rewritten to say brigade sized groups?

Riders: Patrols get 32 movement points.  Cavalry values for these kingdoms are higher.  +1 to emissary and agent range.  Groups with brigades get +2 movement points, so 22 for normal movement and 27 for forced march.  Intercept range is +1 (so with kingdom base 3, Riders get 4 for intercept range).  Riders have access to the Flank tactic, but kingdoms with the Riders trait (or Flight) cannot be flanked in battle.

So Patrols get 32 movement points and larger groups get 22.

2NO with 3 brigades (2 NO, 1 scorpion) is unable to move more than 20 points.

It looks like my force marches last turn were short also.  I don't think the order checker programing on this is working correctly.  UM would you please check?

I agree.

At the end of the turn maybe before spells so it is there but do not have to move over it every time just to read the new information on the turn.

that is where it is put in the 3rd Cycle reports just before previous orders and spell lists. I don't care "where" it is on the Turn Report.... just that its there... so much easier when you're in multiple games to help remember who's who.

Send support the map sequence in question and specify your calculated results with all of your kingdom's adjustments for movement (including artifacts) so I'll know at what point the issue occurred.

The issue is occurring on the turn that will process tomorrow.

I will forward the results tomorrow.

Anyone can check for this issue by trying to move a Riders Kingdom division  21-22 pts w/o  force marching.

As I mentioned earlier, calculate the movement costs before sending a request to support or commenting on the forum about it. Since you didn't, I'll go ahead and do the calculation for you:

2NO (starting from YQ)
YP (desert): 4 pts for Nomad
YO (plains): 5 pts
XN (desert): 4 pts
WN (desert): 4 pts
WM (mountains): 8 pts

The order checker is reporting the following:

ORDER #720: SINCE MORALE IS LOW, TROOPS ARE UNWILLING TO FORCE MARCH (MORALE 95, STOPPING BEFORE AREA WM) (720 2NO YP YO XN WN WM)

Where is the discrepancy? Add up the points and you'll see that your group cannot move to WM since it would go over 22 pts.

I found that the code is correct 99% of the time and that the players either are mistaken or failed to consider a certain factor in their question so please recheck your request before sending anything to support.

I posted it on the forum to see if any other players had issues with the riders trait or if it was just me.

I made an error with the drop down menu.  Intended last square was XM (desert) not WM. (total points=21)

Sorry for your troubles.
