Master of Shadows,

I fear you may have missed another communication. I had inquired about the cost of protection similar to what you just granted the Ancient Ones. I can offer you enough gold in the short term to fill your coffers for months to come and hope you'll consider a large payment as protection.

Lords,

I fear that an emerging GN/AN/RA/DA alliance is bad news for all other kingdoms. At this moment all are successfully expanding, and none have any enemies that threaten them, with the exception of the Giant in Synisvania. A GN, DA or DA victory is going to be very difficult to prevent unless those kings that have been quiet up until now wake up and join forces against this powerful alliance.

Winged lord, who have you not made peace with? Are you willing to coordinate actions to stave off an easy victory for this new alliance?

Elven lord, the Crown of Alamaze can never be yours if you don't put your forces to use. If you're willing to join the fray we can coordinate via information, actions, etc.

I send this note with the utmost hope you'll both awaken from your slumber and join the fray before it's too late.

Greetings. A peace is possible. We understand that you were coming to the aid of your ally and providing some help in that regard. We would, of course, require the return of our town at OM. What say you?

Yes, that would be acceptable. You would, of course, have to cease hostilities against the noble Ranger as well.

It is agreed. I will cease hostilities against the Dark Elf and Ranger in return for the town at OM. The Ranger has not commented on this agreement and he must agree to a cessation of hostilities as well and he might have a different opinion of how to proceed. But if he wishes to continue the war against me I will not let our agreement suffer. I also propose a 10 turn NAP to cover the situation.

WA -> GI

Large friends, I never heard from you during these first few turns of conflict and wonder what your intentions may be. It looks like you are at war with the Ranger but are asking the Dragons to come to your aid. Whom we haven't heard from either. I am negotiating peace with Dark Elves, which improves my current situation tremendously. But I am uncertain whether peace with the Ranger causes you problems. Let me know where you stand on these matters.

Hail Arcane Master,

My goal is to expunge the world of the evil Giants.  I have no designs upon you.  I do think it was treacherous that you released such valuable information against me as well as assassinating my high-ranking agent when I had done nothing to you, but I am willing to let bygones be bygones.  For the record, I still have yet to take any direct action against you.

I am amenable to peace between our two nations.

Regards,
Lord Swordhand, First Ranger

Lords, the Gnomes have a non-aggression pact with both the Black Dragons and the Giants through the end of winter [i.e. T31], entered into long before the current unpleasantness. Accordingly, we must of course honor those commitments. I'm very glad to see you've made peace with the Red Warlock, as we are also at peace with him, and working with him against the foul Dwarves, our natural enemy.

Accordingly, it probably makes sense to continue our own non-aggression pact terminable upon four full months of notice -- and I would love to see the Dark Elves confirm that -- and simultaneously prosecute our own wars independently: the two of you against the Black Dragons and Giants, and various combinations of the Ancient Ones, Warlock, silent Witchlord, and myself against the Dwarves and Trolls. (The Elves and Underworld continue to be neutral, apparently, and thus I do not include them in the above lists.)

Please let me know if you have any other thoughts, and we would welcome a confirmation of the non-aggression pact with the Dark Elves.

Hail Great Lord,

We had not heard back from you.  We greatly desire to remain your loyal vasal.  To this end, we offer you control of Arcania. Please join us in our struggle againt the treacherous Giants and when the conflict is over we will turn control of his region over to you.

Your loyal servant,
Lothaedus

BL - RA,

     I am allied with the Giant kingdom and our alliance specifically notes that we will defend one another if attacked in Arcania. I certainly do not want war with you or my NAP mates, but this puts me in a precarious position. I invite you to withdraw from Arcania immediately.

Please do not take any of my comments as a personal insult or as a criticism of the game 'Alamaze', which I very much enjoy. Rather, I hope that my personal insight and unique perspective may, in some way, help make 'Alamaze' more fun, a more successful financial venture, or simply more sustainable as a long-term project. Anyone who reads this post should feel completely free to ignore, disregard, scorn, implement, improve, dispute, or otherwise comment upon its content.

Red Mage,

Just confirming that you saw my question on 2DW, and can assist with the Ward on the GN emissary UG. Many thanks!

Your emissary is warded. Or maybe he isn't. If I say he's warded and everyone believes me then anyone would be crazy to waste an order to sleep the protected emmy and even crazier to try an assassination. Which would mean I wouldn't even have to do the ward and he would still be protected! But then someone could understand that to be the case and assume I'm lying about the ward and try something anyway. And clearly if you are so worried about warding this emissary he must be about to do something really, really important. Hmm. What a predicament for some other king to figure out.

I have no further info on 2DW. You were right about my source of info. Many sleepless nights for the stumpy-legged ones this past month.

WA -> RA

Ok, ok, I'm sorry already! I still have no real idea who has been doing such dirty work against me. Understand that I have had multiple successful assassinations against me (far outweighing your losses!), destruction of town defenses, theft of gold - the list is nearly endless. Based on your EXTENSIVE agent count and levels, you seemed like the best possible candidate. If everyone else that claims innocence is telling the truth, that basically leaves the Dwarf, Dragons, and Underworld as candidates. Or some combination of them. But if wasn't you, it wasn't you and you are showing considerable generosity in letting bygones be such.

Your tussle with the Giant is as precarious for me to deal with as the Dragons. The Giant is my ally but I don't think that requires me to actively fight you. While I still do not control Amberland that's not much of an issue in any case. So we can agree to a NAP for now (10 turns?), and that will allow me peace with the Dark Elves as well.
