Hail Lord of Shadows,

I am a very satisfied customer of your protection package as evidenced by may timely payments in advance.  I know you have likely done wondrous things with the gifts I have sent your way.

If I may, I would like to purchase additional services from you.  I will pay large amounts of gold for the heads of any high ranking emissaries or wizards that belong to the Giant.

Very best regards,
~Lothaedus, First Ranger

Yes you are correct we will take the town we are at and a village should put us over the top for regional control.  I give you full claims to the old capital.

Thanks for the information on his royal court.   This information will come in handy for sure.

Is the 1st TR location known?

Greetings Brother-in-Arms,

War rages all around us.  I know you are engaged with the nefarious trolls, but do you have any spare resources to aid in my conflict with the Warlock or Giant? I suspect the Giant is imminently about to attack me as well since he has been saber rattling for some time and continues to take actions against me.

Hail friend!

I trust your battle with the most treacherous Warlock is going well.  He has been attacking me with an eye to expanding into my region along with his puppet, the Giants.  I hope to aid you in your war by relieving any potential pressure that the Giants may be exerting on you.  If you see opportunity to help in any conflict with the Giant, I would be delighted.

Yours truly,
~LS

Dearest Draconic Overlord,

I know your might knows no bounds.  I entreat with you to consider joining my just cause to seek justice against the Warlock and Giant.  They have been sapping my resources for many months.  I know that with you and I together on this noble endeavor, we could make short work of these scoundrels.  You would then have space for your majestic dragons to soar.  It really would be my first desire for you to join me as my liege lord.  However, if you do not wish to join my crusade, I ask that you at least remain neutral as I am your loyal vassal.  Let us see who amongst your vassals are the stronger to better serve you.

Humbly,
~Lord Lothaedus, First Ranger

Dear Friend,

I hope you fare well in your undertakings.  It turns out the Warlock and Giant continue to be most treacherous.  They continue to sap my resources and harass me with their sorcerous powers and assassinations.  My people are demanding that in one way or another we stop their evil ways.  Let us join forces and crush this evil before it goes any further.  I propose that you take what you can from the Giant from row "R" and above and I target row "S" and below.

To this noble cause, I have asked for aid from my other blood brother, the Gnomes.  I hope that they are not too bogged down in their battle with fiendish trolls that they might be able to offer some assistance. I have also beseeched the mighty Black Dragon to our cause as he knows I am his loyal ally.  I fear that if he joins the evil Warlock and Giant, then all of the east will be bogged down in war that ends up going nowhere and ultimately serves to be all our dooms.  But should he join us, it could usher in a period of greatness for all involved in this holy crusade.

Best,
~LS

Good and Noble Ranger, Protector of the Eastern Wood,

Any kingdom that attacks you is our enemy and will be hunted down with our last Drow, if necessary. I have begun engaging the Treacherous Trickster, but am at this time reluctant to target the Giant. Remember, if we attack him, my NAP with the Great Black Dragon dissolves. I would like to hear the Dragon's response to your entreaty. Be assured, however, that whatever support you need from the Onyx Imperium is yours.

Your Brother,
Roris

Big Chief,

Do you have any recons or intel from the lands of Torvale to share?

TR-DW Big Chief in a bad mood! First of all, dirty sneaks early kidnapped noble duke and then somebody stole both our shiny weapons and killed our best wizard! Even worse, Dark and Silent now has wizard who can bomb villages and there is nothing but a smoking hole where was the hovel of Stone Trees (GM). Me think Dark and Silent will soon be bombing more villages.
Old men and Penis Nose own all of Torvale - Big Chief not going to waste his time fighting there. He need magic to beat them and Butterfly Queen won't come out of her forest. Somebody better get busy fighting Penis Nose down south or he will move on to next region.

If I were to send a Mage to one of your PCs and for the next 10 turn raise gold production by 2500 would you consider that I am off limits from these attempts?   It would not add to my totals.  I really would rather continue to have my agents go to your training classes rather than be targets.  Just this last turn I spend 8 orders guarding my assets.   That could be 4000 more gold for you and less risk to your agents.

(UN->AN)
So you are offering to increase my monthly production of gold by 25,000 over the next ten months in exchange for my declining any contracts on your assets.  That...really adds up to a lot of gold.  On the other hand, it also would make that town or village a juicy target for others and 25,000 gold per month isn't worth much to me if it's going into someone else's coffers.

Perhaps we could arrange a swap of towns or villages as part of this deal?  A town or village on the sea is much less vulnerable to attack, so if you have one available that you are willing to swap, then I would have one I feel I could feel confident in retaining.

Shadow Master,

One of my two Conjure Prestige spells worked, as you hopefully have seen.  I am happy to do another this turn.  Just let me know how much credit I will have after this month (45,000, or 60,000, or some number in between, perhaps 52,500 if you want to set the number at 17,500 per spell).

For my AIDS agent, please attempt an early kidnap on the TR Duke RU located at PG.  If you could confirm this, I would be grateful.

Finally, in light of the absurd Dwarves. I will do his offer one better by proposing 45,000 gold for the Dwarven King, dead or alive.

Best,
Bottlenose

Damn it - both you and the Ancient Ones are really going to make me do math, aren't you?  I'll give you an accounting as soon as I am able.  I would note that I did not intend to agree to provide credit for a Conjure Prestige spell that failed to work - especially considering that I have no way of independently verifying that the failed spell was actually attempted.  It's not that I necessarily think you would lie (you aren't me), but trusting someone upsets my digestion something fierce.  Perhaps we should forgo further attempts for now.

The early kidnap attempt will be made.

Consider a bounty of 45,000 gold placed on the Dwarven King.

Agent of Chaos

I would be more than happy to contribute 10k for the removal of the Dwarven king just so I feel like I'm contributing. Can pay more, if needed, to exceed any counter offer.

How much would it cost to get a recon report of the DW and DA capitals? Or at least locations?

Red
(UN-WA)
Hmm...a recon report of a capital.  Obviously of worth - once the name of a king or regent is known, a mage such as yourself wouldn't ever need my assistance in locating or scouting it again.  But also not a terribly great expense to get.  Shall we say 5,000 gold per capital, with the expectation that it may take a month or two to locate the capital and scout it?

Shadow Master,

If you check the correspondence, you will actually see that we did agree to a cost "per casting" and not per successful casting. Given that a Power-6 Wizard could generate 12,000 gold minimum, it would not make sense to set the price any lower than that, and since I assume influence in excess of the normal maximum for a King's order does have some value to you, that is why we have been debating between 15,000 and 20,000 per casting.

As for honesty, for a naturally suspicious one such as yourself, I will be happy to make a special offer to you so that you can verify my claims after peace falls upon the land once more. Does that sound fair?

Best,
Bottlenose
(UN->GN)
Ah yes, so I did.  Foolish on my part not to include the chance of failure in the pricing.  I believe account for that does put the worth of the casting below 12,000 gold, which is a very reasonable minimum.  I therefore decline any further castings upon my king.  I'm sure we can come up with other payment options that are in both our interests.

Master of Shadows,

You've acknowledged the bounty on me, but I haven't heard back from you on the bounties I've placed on the other kings - $40k for GN, AN, WA. (I'll drop the WI from the previous list.)

King Oban

(UN->DW)
My apologies - with all the messages flying about, I had missed those bounties.  I acknowledge them as well.  I will note to you and to all others of Alamaze that I will pursue bounties on Kings at my own discretion and timing.  Kings are difficult targets in the best of times, and now with well developed wizards and agents abounding in the land, they are likely even more difficult targets.  Launching an attempt close to the acknowledgement of the contract would likely guarantee failure - I prefer a less predictable timing.
