I did notice that it tells me I get a location for an artifact in Arcania but did not actually give me the location. also, I seem to have a temple, but not sure what to do with it. Also, where is the place that tells me how to use Order 11?
Ok, I will go work with the parser and the order input sheet now.
The Temple is used to attract a Noble Maiden who can test to become an HP.
The wording on the "location of the artifact" needs to be edited. It tells you the region and shortname, not the location.
Thanks, LD.
A little weird, so I get the number of the artifact but cannot get a priestess until turn 4. I think the Ranger and Dwarf, for instance, are told the locations of theirs.
Just have to hope nobody finds it, or that I find it first, in which case the number was not that helpful.
Great to see the test game, pre-beta, go out today. A new dawn. We have asked everyone in the test to acknowledge this is not a final version, there is no payment, etc.
The Creator owes a new Rules Supplement, which he acknowledged yesterday. So until that comes out, there will be some mystery. Let's remember this will be in no way about "winning", it will be about exploring the new user interface, including the Bananas Splitter, and an opinion on the new kingdoms or the prospects for the Warlock in the Mountains, and a general impression on how The Choosing changes the dynamic.
Several mostly personal events came up today, so my intention to get a full update on 3rd Cycle rules not likely to happen here late Saturday night.
Cannot get bananas parser to work on mac, I'll use my work laptop.
My biggest question so far is around the relative strengths of all of these companion and recruitable brigades. Is there a makeup and approximate skill level of them each somewhere? The only approximation I can use now is how much they cost to recruit and pay.
Movement rates- I have one group that is only Warg Riders. I can't tell how far they can move. Do they move at the same rate as my kingdom brigades?
Also, 3 points to use for customization?
Thanks everyone.
Who wants to meet at Evanon for a battle with the Tyrant?

I don't know if Rick plans to give us details on the various brigades or not. We don't have that now.
All of your groups move at the same time rate regardless of makeup. The rate is in your setup.
I posted the url for the kingdom customization a few posts up. You get three points to use on artifacts, influence, gold, etc.. Use order 11.
My halflings will meet your Tyrants at Evanon on turn 3! You best bring us ur friends because I will be bringing my centaurs!

Ok, got orders in. First time ever at the site. Loved it, generally easy to follow, but I did have a couple of issues.
1. If I moved a group and then verified orders and found I had non-connecting squares, I had to erase that order and start it over? Not huge, but a pain. Also, had to check map closely with each entry to read the letters to put in. Perhaps it could be like GPS. As you type in one coordinate (which could be limited to the 8 squares which touch your starting square), the next drop-down would show only those squares that touch the one you are leaving.
2. Could not figure out how to both move a group and transfer troops from it to an inactive group. When I tried, the movement order went away.
If I did the movement, then tried to Add an Order for Group 1 and chose 699, no boxes popped up. Likewise in reverse. Probably user error, but it stumped me.
Take note. If anyone is interested in recruiting companions then pay close attention to their requirements especially leader levels and number of natural brigades required. As the SA last time around, my constant military clashes and missed reinforcements meant I was unable to use companions so plan accordingly.
Additionally, elite units are hard to come by so do your best to pad your militaries when possible.
Finally, SA make sure you have siege engines before you use your military to try and take a town or better. You will be sorry if you do not.

There is a new version of the Banana Mapper that should deal with 3rd cycle emmies only moving 9 squares.
It also automatically updates the explored areas for 710,720,976 orders.

Hold on. 3rd Cycle is a lot more complex than that. By default, emissary and agent movement is 8 squares. That may be increased in range depending upon certain things. The Riders trait increases emissary/agent range by 1. The Red Elk Mount artifact increases an emissary/agent range to 11 (to move to another area) while increasing an agent's mission range to 10. An Onyx Amulet allows an emissary/agent to gate at a range of 8 areas while the innate Demon Princes gate ability remains unlimited (innate ability overrides the Onyx Amulet).
Group movement is also changed with traits and artifacts. If a kingdom has the Riders trait, their movement capabilities increase from 20/25 (forced) to 22/27 (forced) movement points. Patrols increase from 25 pts for normal/forced mode (in 3rd cycle, all patrols may move up to 25 pts) to a max of 32 pts with the Flight or Riders trait. The Champion Stallions artifact increases a patrol range by +7 pts.

Stumped me too and was a bug. It's now fixed but you'll have to refresh the Military tab page to pick up the fix.
Also, everyone needs to complete each order completely in order for the action to register properly. For the transfer orders, you need to select "Leave Blank" for the remaining fields if they're not used. So if you wish to transfer troops with order 700 but only have one troop type to move, select "Leave Blank" for the second troop type fields or the website won't know that you're done filling in that particular order.
Sorry if this is a pain but the website doesn't know when the user is done with an order so you have to specify a value for each field (including the "Leave Blank" fields). However, there are some fields that are mutually exclusive to each other like with the transfer figure 701 order, you may select either a leader's level or name but not both. You'll notice that if you choose one of them like the leader's initials, the corresponding leader's level field will reset (since the two fields are mutually exclusive to each other). Not many orders are like that but the website will show the word '-or-' to designate a mutual exclusive field to alert you of this difference.
Also, you'll have to enter a value of 0 for shortname and press the Enter key for it to register. I'm investigating how to handle artifact shortnames/skeleton codes better than requiring a user to enter a dummy value then hitting the Enter key but that is still ongoing. For now, if you wish to issue an order like 701 where the shortname is optional, enter a zero and press the Enter key or the order won't complete.

It did seem that I needed more resources open on my desktop than before.
Resources needed for the previous way of doing my turn:
1. Turn results (html)
2. Excel worksheet to build my orders (Excel)
3. Map (PowerPoint)
4. Orders Rulebook (PDF)
Resources now:
1. Turn results (html)
2. Setup (html) - for key info that used to be saved into my Excel workbook
3. Bananas Map (Ruby) - Replaced PowerPoint
4. Bananas Group Movement Plotter - used in conjunction with the setup & a calculator to process group movement - Excel used to handle this.
5. Bananas Emissary Tool - used to aid in emissary movement (Agent & HP will have to be manual) - PowerPoint used to handle this (w/movement slider template)
6. Order checker (url) -replaced portions of the Excel & so far, the rulebook
7. Notepad (.txt) - for notes that used to be saved into my Excel workbook
8. Calculator - for the calculations that used to be handled by my Excel
Looks like all of this will be handled with the 2016 interactive map version. Keep in mind that the purpose of the new website is to make it easier for the user to specify their actions for the turn and not to auto-calculate everything for them (which seems to be the most requested post in this thread).
The intention of the new website is to make it easier for the user to select an action and have the website construct the order behind the scenes for them so that the player doesn't have to type it themselves. We need to judge the new site based upon its intended purpose and not what it will be in the future. So for now, review the new site with the perspective if it would be better for the players to submit their orders or not.
The test game has an assortment of new and experienced players so we should get a decent sampling of opinions but don't think the new site (combined with the Bananas Parser) will have the full capabilities of an interactive map. That won't come out until next year...
