Not surprised with BL or DA taking their regions since they're essentially unopposed. DW and RA are surprising though. Makes you wonder where the SO and RD are headed....

Are we allowed to issue in-game message orders in this game? Orders 341-349 (except no 349).

Not presently. If this format persists, those orders will need to be revised for the format.
Glad you guys figured out how to communicate on the forum for an anonymous game. Well done.

Been an interesting game thus far. Here are the public highlights:
DE won first council seat for 39,000 but forgot to bid. Then a High Council bid fail made for no new member on turn 2, but the DE did remember to put up an issue. The UN got it cheap on turn 3 for 6,357 and DE got issue again. Turn 4, the AN jumped on with 26,500 and voted no to deny the DE influence raise. UN got the new issue. The DA joined on Turn 5 for 31,699 and he surprisingly supported the UN issue. And the UN took the issue again. Turn 6 sees another HC fail as nobody bids for the 5th seat. UN issue passes with DA support. Finally, Turn 7 and the BL joins the council for 26,319 and again the UN gets the issue, though his previous issue fails with a Nay from AN.
We are about to receive Turn 8, and at least 2 capitols have fallen. There is reference to the RD "regent" declaring someone an enemy, and I saw a King from another kingdom "escape the fall of ..." to a new location.
Typical enemy declarations: DW/RD, TR/EL, but some extras TR/RD, RD/UN (lot of RD enemy declarations), GN/UN, TR/AN, DA/SO, DW/DA.
On Turn 7, the Elves headed for the Grey Havens.
For regions, Turn 4 saw DA for ES, DW for TM, RA for Synis, BD for SS. Turn 5 saw RD for NM, GN for Runn, DE for Arc. Turn 6 saw TR take Oakendell and AN take Torvale.
Really looking forward to Turn 8 today.

Definitely the calm before the storm. With all regions taken--aside from Amberland which started without GI/WA--I expect things will heat up quickly as kingdoms finish their consolidation and aim to expand. Eventually, I figure everyone will be declared enemies with everyone else...

Do people ever declare allies in an anonymous game? How do you arrange to ransom a hostage?

I guess you could issue an order and hope the other player responds the next turn. I doubt it though.
You can declare allies, but it would be fairly pointless since you cannot coordinate. The main reason would be to reduce the other player's status points...

Please do not take any of my comments as a personal insult or as a criticism of the game 'Alamaze', which I very much enjoy. Rather, I hope that my personal insight and unique perspective may, in some way, help make 'Alamaze' more fun, a more successful financial venture, or simply more sustainable as a long-term project. Anyone who reads this post should feel completely free to ignore, disregard, scorn, implement, improve, dispute, or otherwise comment upon its content.

It can be one of the few ways to communicate. Although open you could let someone know I don't want to attack you. You have to be careful if they do not respond in kind the next turn be wary because your also giving them an increased reaction in your region. Another thing if there is a clear leader you may toss out ally order to try and let them know you want to stop fighting and go after the guy close to winning.
As for hostages I have used it to avoid a fight in an anon game. I captured a hostage and issued to trade them to the player. The next turn I did it again to complete the order. Never got attacked.

Does this work in the reverse where the kingdom who has their emissary captured can issue order 204 with a gold amount and then do the same thing the next turn and hope the capturing kingdom reciprocates?

It could if they want to stay friends.
