Far be it from me to dispute the phenomenon of fake news, but in this case, I read the journal article in the actual scientific journal.  It can be found here -> https://www.nature.com/articles/s41591-020-0822-7  So, if its incorrect, its the scientists who have misinterpreted the data, its not a case of the media miss-reporting it.

I got links too. Why would anyone listen to a propaganda media, rivaled only by the nazi propaganda machine. They have been caught in lie after lie but let’s all listen to them. Numbers don’t lie, no matter how you slice it. Flu to date 55,000 dead in US, virus not so much, exact same time frame. And as with every germ or virus, the elderly, sick and young will always be more at risk. IMO

Yeah, exactly.  I always go for the original scientific article, then I know who to blame if they turn out to be wrong.  And scientists are wrong all the time, but being consistently and stubbornly wrong is the sign of a bad scientist (ahem... climate scientists... my opinion only).  Hopefully they are right this time, if they are this could all be over very soon.

We could have some fun adding lines to this, maybe reflecting the different kingdoms.  Of course it's not that we don't take this world wide crisis seriously and pray for all those souls impacted by it, which includes nearly everyone at some point.

I'm a salty old pirate
And I'm sailing the sea.
I'll take all your gold
But the virus goes free.

I was shot in the shoulder
And stabbed in the spleen
But what put me down
Was that Covid 19!

I've plundered gold and jewels
as I've sailed the seas
but most precious of all
was a roll of TP.

Good one sir.  Did Pirates have TP?  So far from shore?
A grape shot took me leg off
And a dagger got me eye
But I'd gladly lose'em both
For a roll'o double ply!
lol

If only having t.p. was the worst of our worries.  The health care providers are catching this at a very scary rate.  My hat is off to them and the first responders world wide.  How stressful to work incredible hours, often without proper protection, and wonder if you are going to catch it and bring it home to your own family.  I'm an hour from Boston, maybe the greatest medical city in the world.  Over the last 2 days 160 of the medical staff in three major hospitals tested positive.  We can have some fun with this thread but it's dammed scary stuff, especially for the high risk people and there are millions of them.

Yes, it is bad for a high risk.  Perspective: Spanish flu killed 50 million-100 million furring WW1 it was H1N1 virus.   After this comes to a peak, an immunity will most likely be built in the human geno.  Which will slow down the rate in the future somewhat like the flu.
