I'm beginning an anonymous game and I thought that there would be no diplomacy but I see that 2 kingdoms are already allied. How do you ally with an unknown without talking to him? Are there "natural alliances" that make sense whatever the respective personalities in charge? Thanks!

Yes people will issue an ally to try and let the other player know they do not want to fight. They are not talking but you will see it happen a lot vs people with shared regions. There is actually a bit of this kind of stuff going on in these games. Like someone may land on another kingdoms PC and then move off it, again basically telling them I do not want to fight.

I would like to see that sort of thing, at least the declaration, stopped. Let it be completely unknown... In one of my games, the Ancient Ones has a standing order to send the Troll gold and food each turn. That pisses me off.

I had the same general reaction, although I do have some sympathy in individual anonymous games where two Kingdoms share a region.
(No sympathy in team or Warlords games, however.)

If Ry Vor says so, I could have the code prevent declaring another kingdom an Ally in all Anonymous games and prevent all trades as well. That way, the software will take care of the problem. Coding-wise, it's a 5 minute job...

My initial thought is to keep ally declarations possible in Anonymous games. Folks will always find ways to signal to each other, and this one at least informs everyone what is going on. Of course, there's something to be said for making signalling harder to do.
In the vein of making signalling transparent, how heinous of a coding job would it be to have all trades/gifts report at a threshold of 1 food or gold instead of 15K for Anonymous games?
