Game #153; New Player Primeval

This game has begun!

Please do not take any of my comments as a personal insult or as a criticism of the game 'Alamaze', which I very much enjoy. Rather, I hope that my personal insight and unique perspective may, in some way, help make 'Alamaze' more fun, a more successful financial venture, or simply more sustainable as a long-term project. Anyone who reads this post should feel completely free to ignore, disregard, scorn, implement, improve, dispute, or otherwise comment upon its content.

First turn back, and the world is a quit place. The EL won the High Council with a bid of 10k and put up the next bid. Was 10k to much when the last spot will go for 1g? Time will tell... Good luck to all!
I played when it cost .22 cents to mail my turn to NC.

Congrats to the Elven Kingdom for the wise bid of 10K for the first Council Chair and their bid to raise influence. I hope everyone was lucky in their search for all those hidden pop centers.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Hi there, Hawk.

Can you tell us about the #235 order (REORGANIZE GROUP)?

The wording is a bit vague in rules. Maybe an example to clarify.

Currently, I'm under the impression that this order allows you to sacrifice one of your lesser brigades in order to heal one of your elite units.

That is correct. When you have troops with attrition it will show you a % of the troops that are missing.

Example 7 brigades DW 3 Recruits, 7% attrition. You are missing 70% of one brigade of troops.

You can issue order 235 and remove a brigade of recruits (that is actually at 93% strength) and end up with 7 DW, 2RE and 0% attrition. Your combat value will likely rise because your missing 7% of the 7 DW brigades was equal to a entire brigade of recruits. Plus you protected your DW brigade from being lost when attrition increased above 1 brigade.

Would anyone object to speeding this game up? A complete 1 week turn around seems long. Can we go on the same schedule as normal games seem to run?

We are on the normal game schedule. Turns will process on this sequence Tues- Monday- Friday - Tuesday - Monday - Friday

There have been many discussions over the best timing of turns and this what was agreed upon as working best for the whole group.

Maybe if turns were fully automated in the future it might change to when all turns have been submitted.

Good luck to all on Monday!

Ah, thanks, we started on the Tuesday- Monday, so I assumed it was a one week turn around. Thanks for clearing that up Smile
