I would like to see non-artifact enhancements added to the game which will provide additional strategic considerations during gameplay. For example, for enhancing seapower:
Use Order #630 with the first letter of the sea in column A and the appropriate enhancement in column B:
Enhancement___________Column B_________Bonus___________Cost
Greek Fire________________G__________+10% attack_______15,000 gold
Ramming Head____________R___________+5% attack________8,000 gold
Cannons_________________C__________+20% attack_______35,000 gold
Reinforced Hulls___________H__________+10% defense______12,000 gold
Admiral Maneuvers_________A__________+25% defense______40,000 gold
The special enhancements are given to the entire naval fleet in the specified sea. If any of the above are purchased, they are reported on the kingdom’s turn report under the sea power section. Also, Order #755 and #975 will display any of the above sea enhancements on the divination/recon report.
[**See the attached sample file under both the seapower section and section 4 for the agent's recon report. This file was generated by my personal Alamaze game engine so the printout is based back when the game was depreciated and the turn report will look like the old version. I guess if my software isn't going to be purchased then at least some of the improvements that I made over the years can be implemented for others to enjoy.]
Non-artifact enhancements may also be added for land-based groups as well with its listing under the group section like:
VALUE VS. POPULATION CENTER: 6,362
EST. VALUE IN CURRENT TERRAIN: 7,123
SPECIAL: Enchanted Weapons, Mithril Armor, Seer Knowledge
The reason why I'm asking to add this feature to the game is that it provides greater strategic considerations for players to make during gameplay. My favorite part of Age of Empires and similar games is that the player can choose to either build a huge horde of cheaply created troops that are expendable or develop a highly trained, well equipped smaller force with mithril weapons, fire arrows, and other special capabilities.
