Is the ever-lasting Deathknight Plague (-15% census loss) a worthwhile tactic to employ against others, or should the player of this kingdom just forget it as an effective strategy?
Perhaps, by itself, the plague may not be that useful, however impairing another kingdom's ability to recruit from popcenters becomes EXTREMELY effective when combined with assassinating their leaders/wizards.
Without leaders, recruiting companions becomes difficult
Without wizards, no brigades may be summoned
Without census from the plague, no recruiting from popcenters
Heck, it may even be possible to take out another kingdom just by the plague and assassinating leaders/wizards!!!
BTW, in case you're wondering, your wizards may cast the Plague spell (#784) in combination with the Deathknight plague ability. Think of it as the region experiencing two pandemics: Ebola and HIV at the same time. That ends up being a rather large 35% loss in census in just one turn.
The Deathknights are an Evil kingdom -- play like one!
