What insight have you gleaned that you wish to share on pairing kingdoms and regions? Surely some combinations make more sense than others.
For starters, The Gray Mouser tells me a few things:
For example, and we might have a thread on each region, in Krynn, the bonuses are fleets in two seas, lots of plains, two additional brigades of the strongest available companions, and others, as well as the somewhat preferred Westmen recruits available. This region is suited to among others, Amazons, Rangers, Nomads, Warlock, Red Dragon, Black Dragon. Wait, Krynn has two seas bordering! Yes but only five actual sea areas. Not many mountains to recruit Wyvern. But some, and you don't need to control a PC to recruit Wyverns, and Zanthia is so near.
The Untamed Lands looks ideal for Red Dragons and others. Nyvaria seems to work for Atlantians. Elves and Dark Elves can manage Triumvia or Darkover.
Another thought is in-draft strategy. So when your turn comes for round 2, consider what you already know about your neighbors.
For starters, The Gray Mouser tells me a few things:
- Don't place a dragon kingdom in a region with more than a few sea areas. These cannot be defended.
- If your kingdom has strong available companions, choose a region like Krynn, Mythgar or The Untamed Lands that give you bonus brigades of the strongest available.
- Consider your terrain adeptness when choosing a region. This seems obvious but is not always followed in drafts thus far.
- If you take a sea power like Atlantians or Pirates, ideally have a plan to three seas, or at minimum two, to eventually max at maybe 36 fleets producing 54,000 gold for you independent of PC's.
- Political powers should consider the Capital regions of Darkover, Triumvia, and Nyravia, maximizing your noble power.
- Imagine your plan at step two at least (after gaining your capital region) considering your kingdom and region.
