Amazon VS. Dwarf Plains Battle
#1
Devil Dog and I decided to meet for an epic battle on the last turn of our duel. I started off at over 91,000 in the plains and tried to use my Dwarven barrage tactic, but the clever stun of my Warlord ruined those plans.

Battle between the 3rd Amazons army group and the 1st Dwarven army group in the plains of area GI:

                        Amazons                        Dwarven

                                      Commanders
Grand Marshal Evor Starburst    Warlord Snark the Bold
Commander Mare of Torvale       Commander Boris the Axe
Commander The Spear             General Son of Gimli

                                       Wizards
Power-2 Hag of Agmar        Power-2 Damakar
                       Power-1 Aryia               Adept   Wandwielder

                                       Brigades
2 Amazons Veteran              3 Dwarves Veteran
3 Amazons Regular              1 Dwarves Regular
2 Wildlings Veteran            1 Hill Giants Elite
8 Wildlings Regular            2 Hill Giants Veteran
2 Westmen Regular              3 Mammoths Regular
                                                   4 Zamorans Green
                                                   2 Westmen Veteran
                                                   1 Westmen Regular
                                                   2 Westmen Green
                                                   1 War Machines Veteran

                                     Combat Factors
                    Excellent Leaders              Good Leaders
                                                   Light Attrition

                                   Tactical Selection
                    Determined Attack              Standard Battle Plan

Rumbling by the 1st Dwarven Hill Giants caused fear among the ranks of their enemy. The
thundering stomping by the 1st Dwarven Mammoths caused fear among the ranks of their
enemy. Late in the afternoon, with a shout the Huntress in command spurred her mount
forward, the 3rd Amazons army group rushed to attack the advancing lines of the 1st
Dwarven army group under Commander Boris the Axe. Aware of the political situation that
had declared the Amazons to be an enemy of their kingdom's ideals, the Dwarven forces were
invigorated and had their morale raised as they prepared to battle their declared enemy!
The Dwarven fielded its pride: its 1st group. As the attackers advanced through the green
    fields, the battle began.

                                      - Archers -

Long range missilers from both sides joined the fray and fired their arrows. The large
shields of the Westmen troops within the 1st Dwarven reduced opposing missile damage. The
Amazons forces caused light casualties upon the Dwarven lines in response, the Dwarven
dealt out minor damage against the enemy. Short range missilers from both sides joined the
fray and fired their arrows. The Amazons forces dealt out minor damage upon the Dwarven
forces and, in return, the Dwarven imposed minor casualties to their enemy.

                                       - Magic -

Amazons conjurers dismounted barely beyond the range of defending bowmen and began an
elaborate spell. The Amazons Hag of Agmar (Power-2) was not a factor in the battle.
Power-1 wizard Aryia slowly spoke in an arcane language, gestures building to a crescendo.
With a dazzling display of images in the air, the leader of the opposing force is
mezmorized and cannot move! Dwarven mages dismounted barely past where the defensive
missiles were falling and began an animated spell. Power-2 wizard Damakar began sorcerous
incantations in an unknown tongue. A faintly visible blue shimmering began to surround the
troops and noticeably lessened the effectiveness of the arrows of the defenders. The
Dwarven Wandwielder (Adept) was not a factor in the battle. The mages did not appreciably
effect the outcome of the battle.

                                      - Artifact -

Dwarven Warlord Snark the Bold displayed the Axe of Farin for all to see, his troops thus
encouraged multiplied their efforts and the enemy's leaders quaked as the magical axe slew
enemy forces. Amazons wizard Hag of Agmar held forth the Rod of Fire that released
intensely hot flames that damaged the foe. Amazons Grand Marshal Evor Starburst displayed
the Bow of Heracles for all to see, his troops thus encouraged multiplied their efforts
and the enemy's leaders quaked as the magical bow slew enemy forces.

                                      - Cavalry -

The Dwarven troops hoped to exploit the advantage they had gained at this point and onto a
quick victory. Now Grand Marshal Evor Starburst led the Amazons riders drove bare heels
into their steeds down upon the cavalry of the Dwarven. The Amazons forces imposed minor
casualties upon the Dwarven ranks in response, the Dwarven inflicted significant
    casualties to their enemy.

                                      - Infantry -

From the perspective of the Dwarven commanders, all had gone perfectly. Now they sought to
strike for a decisive victory. Now the infantry of each side was committed to the battle,
and the fighting was hard and chaotic. The Amazons melee advanced forward to meet the
Dwarven ground forces in close quarters. The Amazons forces caused significant damage upon
the Dwarven forces in return, the Dwarven caused severe casualties to their foes.

                                     - Conclusion -

Amazons casualties had now exceeded acceptable levels in the judgement of Grand Marshal
Evor Starburst so the order for retreat was sounded. The leaders of the Amazons force
managed the retreat fairly well, all considered. Amazons casualties were put at 67.28%.
Despite receiving a fatal wound, Grand Marshal Evor Starburst survived due to our
kingdom's special healing abilities! All Amazons leaders survived the battle. Fighting
gloriously was Evor Starburst, who once again has distinguished himself. He is now a Lord
Commander. Despite receiving a fatal wound, Power-2 Hag of Agmar survived due to our

distinction was an Wildlings brigade. They are now a Veteran brigade. The toll of battle
has diminished the group's morale. Dwarven casualties were put at 22.57%. All Dwarven
leaders survived the battle. Boris the Axe showed great courage and has been recognized as
a Marshal. Son of Gimli has shown uncommon skill and has earned a promotion to Major
General. All the Dwarven wizards survived the fray. Due to experience, victory and valor,
a Veteran Dwarves brigade has been recognized as Elite! An Mammoths unit earned promotion
to Veteran status. Earning distinction was an Mammoths brigade. They are now a Veteran
brigade. An Mammoths brigade of Regular experience fought bravely and have been promoted
to Veteran experience. Earning distinction was an Zamorans brigade. They are now a Regular
unit. Awarded promotion was an Zamorans brigade. They are now a Regular brigade. Earning
distinction was an Zamorans brigade. They are now a Regular brigade. Due to experience,
victory and valor, a Veteran Westmen brigade has been recognized as Elite! An Westmen
brigade of Regular experience battled valorously and have been elevated to Veteran level.
An Westmen brigade of Green experience battled valorously and have been promoted to
Regular status. An Westmen brigade of Green experience battled valorously and have been
promoted to Regular level. The troops are eager for further glory: morale is up!

While the Amazon spell to stun the leader was clever and prevented the Dwarven Barrage, it's curious while in the plains with experienced leaders and troops they did not execute the flank tactic.  Things would have been different.

All in all, a satisfying battle report.

The answer is the warlord present. A stun from a level one wizard against a warlord does not have a high chance of success. Since this was the last turn, there was little sense in attacking with less than a 3.
