intrinsic ability
#1
just make sure I reading this right.  On  the spell list there is spells for investigating sightings.  Example Bridge of mist (#133) now if you can cast this spell at lvl 1. Does the the wizard have to issue order #139 also to go on the sighting also?

And a lvl 2 or higher wiz would cast with out using a order on turn sheet just like the presence  spell at lvl 3.

had the same question during our alpha test.

If the spell is intrinsic the wizard still need to be in the encounter to cast the free spell. You can either issue a 139 to have him join at risk but full strength or 101 to be safe or now even mirror image at higher levels.

If you can not cast the spell intrinsically then you would cast the spell with the wizard as a way to get him into the encounter.

Correct.

In other words, your P1 will be in the encounter when casting say, Light of the Evening Star, but not adding to the encounter, yet the group cannot proceed without that.  If he has Evening Star as intrinsic, likely P2, he needs to get involved in the encounter by casting another encounter spell in order for his Evening Star to have the intrinsic effect.  He could cast self invisible, so add nothing to the patrol, but involved so as to provide the Evening Star.

If a wizard casts Light of the Evening Star or Bridge of Mist, they are included in the encounter at full wizard level and risk death. If you wish to protect your wizard then just wait until they get these two spells at intrinsic levels (check your kingdom setup) and cast Guarded Attack. The Self Invisible spell is not valid for encounters.

No other spell than Mirror Image (full wizard level but at 1/3 risk of death) will work for encounters. Order 139 (Wizard Assist Encounter) will allow the wizard to contribute to the encounter at full wizard level but risks death. Typically, you should only use 139 for a wraith or lich wizard since they are immune to dying from all forms of combat.

Some additional spells are slated for being available as an intrinsic ability at higher levels, such as Dire Wolf Familiar and True Seeing.
