If someone approaches you and says "If you provide me with the location of your PC, I will avoid it," that is a commitment. The player gains numerous things: the location of the PC, the ability to not waste time sending an emissary or army to a non-neutral PC, the ability to avoid needlessly antagonizing a kingdom so he can lay low or concentrate his efforts against a single kingdom.

What is not in dispute is that the Giant player asked the BL player for a village location. This would enable said Giant player to avoid it while searching or (after divining village locations, which I could believe he did if someone else was divining the towns) avoid sending an emmy to a controlled PC. Now it may be after negotiations, the Giant player realized he'd need that village to feed his walking poop factories or to give him the numbers to control the region. At that point, the prudent thing to do would have been to have spoken to the BL and seen if something could be offered in exchange. Yes, this is a war game and you do take from other people, but it's also a game of diplomacy. The BL and the GI are not predisposed to fight each other - but if you snatch someone's pop center, you are going to get raise their ire. The more enemies dedicated to taking you down, the harder it is to win. The BI may have gained a village, but he also gained an enemy he didn't have before. I think that's a very poor trade and not a smart move.
No one is entitled to anything - Amberland isn't automatically the 'Giant's region'. You take what you can hold and defend. The BL can not stop the Giant from taking his village. But he can make him wish he hadn't done it.

I agree with MM again, don't let us dissuade you from this fantastic game. Plus you already have a natural moral/logical alignment with the GI player. Think of the amazing things you could accomplish together!
Plus, I think the forum can benefit from more first semester law school diatribes.

DuPont, does that qualify as defamation of character?
