Allow me explain how simple it is to blow a game.

Started off well, found the IL cap three spaces from my own in region 3. Raised some agents and on turn about nine took out four of his top wizards. He folded like a soggy pancake and dropped immediately. So i took region three slowly, so as not to sound an alarm. Settled in to training, wizard raising, etc. atlantians were in the lead i think from start to finish, so i searched for his cap in 7. He made a legendary pretty early, so i was able to narrow my search to water/near water areas and found it on T21 i think. AT was still in the lead, but Big Red had control of two regions and was in 7. I saw an opportunity to help them both lose figures, and took it. Kidnapped 3 AT princes one turn, and then the 1RD moved in range. Took out his P5 wiz (maybe two, dont remember) and two warlords in one turn, effectively eliminating any chance he would have of capping legendary castles. The plan was working perfectly, I was under the radar, and had been recruiting Knights of Styx like crazy. Then the dwarf dropped after starting a fight with the darkelf, and Stormgate was open. Moved four princes in, only to find that DA was there with three emissarys as well. With my 25 influence, i won the day, and capped four high level agents that tried to stop me. That was the last of DA as he dropped, having been thinned out by the DW all game, I assume. I had the jump on 9, and took it the next turn, giving me four regions. No longer under the radar about T30, but i had a45 brigade group with six artifacts, a power 8,7,and 6, and 36 of the brigades were Knights. Every one else had been battling the entire game so all I had to do was run around and take the legendary castles that the AT had been nice enough to build. I trained my group on one of his great castles, and then took my first legendary about T32. My groups value was about 400k, and it was an easy path to victory. The only thing stopping me was how many P7 wizards the AT had. I had five wiz 6 and above.
The plan was to stomp around 7 with the big group, use one or two level 7 to dispel regional, and use 3 wizards from another group to dispel dome. I had 3 level 21 agents on counter espionage for my groups. Cant go wrong, right?
And then, on a whim, i decide that my brigade sized force will attack a village. Was using the P7 on dispel regional standing order, but thought that with the two high level wiz in the group, presence would win the day against a tiny village and my ogres. Unfortunately, I forgot that my pre-battle attrition was 39%. Won the battle, lost the war. My group was destroyed, my wizards died to some unknown “bard” type guy who’s picture probably hangs somewhere on the new mayor’s mantel, my dispel regional never fired, and AT hit me with demonic visions. Devastating. I never recovered, never took another Legendary, and AT picked my emissaries to pieces. Went into build mode.
Point is, every move counts. Congrats to Lord Garth, who as you may know, was the first loser in the 2021 Championship game. Well played from start to finish.

Side note, the 54 counter espionage really hinders the UN. They are not as scary as before. Still tough tho, the gold is almost unlimited.
Side note 2, the plow is still the best artifact in the game. AT had it near the water on his hidden cap, with a port. If you find it, i will buy it from you every time

Well done and congratulations to Garth.

It sucked to be Red Dragon in this one.  I worked out of Untamed and eliminated AM in Mythgar after a good defensive effort by DuPont.  AT was leading so I moved on Nyvaria.  All was going fairly well although I had not found his capital and there was a sea town in the northeast that I really could not quite deal with.  Then Uncle struck my lead group with his UN agents and took out both of my warlords and both p5's in one turn.
AT the same time PI came in the backdoor and took out most of Mythgar.  So now I had 3 enemies, my best leaders were dead, I had no protection against regional spells and couldn't deal with domes.  I had to distance myself from UN in the north to survive so turned my attention to PI.  I took back Mythgar and hurt PI badly, even replaced the p5's over time.  By then AT had retaken all of Nyvaria and was well on the way in Untamed.
AT had become such a powerhouse I really could not slow him down and my power had continued to diminish.  I had the satisfaction of thrashing PI but everything else was toast.  AT controlled Untamed.  That, combined with being on the road for a week in real life and having major difficulties doing turns with my phone made me decide to drop, something I seldom do.

Ironically, if it had not been for the major hit I took from UN the AT kingdom would have been slowed down for many more turns UN would have likely had his victory.
Did I say it sucks having 3 enemies?

Maybe it was a a mistake. I didn’t wanna face a 30 brigade red dragon group in the long run either

I didn't intend to mess with UN, especially with a lot of water p.c.  At least I don't have to listen to Garth being runner up in another game!

This is the story of a horse who didn't get to the water to drink until too late. When the DW dropped, I went into Zanthia (which I was planning on attacking anyway) and took it. I then hit the DU hard and destroyed much of his big army group. I then took control of Krynn and the Crown Islands. Since I only had a few turns before the end of the game, I decided to go into the Sword Coast full throttle and avoided Stormgate (which is good because it had a defense of approx. 2400 if I am no9t mistaken). I then wanted to make sure that I had enough population by biulding forums and fortresses in two towns and planned in his minor city. It almost worked, except that the PI did a dome on his minor city that denied me victory! A pox on you, evil Pirate! You cost me the game!
