Game 5136 - SNAPSHOT TEST

I'll fix that over the weekend. Just go by the movement values from your turn 0 snapshot. The problem is only related to the new Ice Age game 5166.

OK... I am officially torn on the map snapshot. Overall I like it. Adding the visual is good.

The one thing that I feel really changes the game in a fundamental way is how your visibility to explored areas stays permanent. I have spent the last few turn moving my patrols around the map and revealing all the PCs. Now I pretty much have real-time intel on all the conflicts being fought. There is no guessing about how close a kingdom is to taking over a region... How close a kingdom is to being wiped out...

It just seems REALLY powerful and a significant change to the way the game plays. I was kind of on the fence with the original changes to allow us to see when unusual sightings were conquered, but seeing how it works with all the PCs.. I dunno.

Just a small side note: wandering in Northern Mists during most of the game after turn 10 would made you think the Necromancer would be wiped out....... come drink with us in the Talking Mountains sometime.... also invited is the Underworld master, not sure if he would come. I promise that soon our marvelous fool (former druid agent) will be here to join us!

We knew it would be a big change to have all that additional intel (sans emissaries).  It started with wanting to show last known intel to the player, so a town might say Owner: Dark Elves (9) meaning last you knew was on turn 9 when it was owned by the DA.  But this became problematic to code.  So instead of trying to store info on a current map for all past turns in their various pieces, we are trying this approach with the rationalization that once you know there is a town, uncle Louie will let you know of any ownership changes.  Seems reasonable, although it is a game changer.  Let's give it some time like all the other changes.  Similar with universal events letting you know about Denigration or Enamoring - hard to keep those things secret you would think, makes it more realistic, but changes the landscape for political blitzes.

Even I'm not settled on it but I think it is more realistic and The Gray Mouser usually grouses about how he never has the orders to do intel.

The Gnome is getting rather uppity in this game.

I will take care of the Gnome. It would be nice if the Underworld would leave me to it, unless he wants the Gnome to be victorious. UN will not gain much from me and should go elsewhere before its to costly.

I don't mind if the Gnome is victorious. I was playing this game just to test the map. In a real game, we would not have started with 3 kingdoms in one region. I was rooting for the DA to win several turns ago.
