#503 - The Choosing 2nd Beta
(Druid) - Really loving this kingdom. BL decided to show up at my capital, Domed it. Proceed to whack 2 of his 3 wizards in the group with my agents and use my p8 to summon a demon to remove the agent he left there. Ended the game with 9 artifacts... thought I would end with a 10th but instead I found the adept twins and while I had room for one of them, they come as a pair. I received no gold for that encounter however... thought that was odd. Sent my AG against Hammerhold as I couldnt find a partner to have a battle with and was hoping the dwarf had built up the defenses. I was double the pc value and as such didnt go the distance I think UM would have liked but unit promotion happened in 11 of the 17 brigades so that went well. "Druid casualties
were put at 10.15%." Current attrition of the group is 10.9% and that is with 7 of my 17 brigades healing 3% this turn. Seems like the attrition is still off on battle statement to actual group levels but I could be wrong here. Just seems like my attrition after the battle was 12.13%.

As I expressed before this kingdom should get a lot of bang for your buck if you wish to go artifact hunting. The agents are pretty decent, the military is meh but with the companions brigades and wizards you should be able to create a powerful group or 2 while keeping a patrol or 2 for your artifact hunting. Eagle Fam at 2 is just a huge advantage to scouting and helping you gain your region.

As the grey mouser was expressing someone to trade food with the Druid would be a prime candidate as I always had spare food.

The only disadvantage I see is the lack of cold darkness/demonic visions. Blinding light is their only regional effect spell to hamper enemy groups.

Since this game is ending, I just need to know who wants to be conceded as the winner for Friday to be the last turn.

I would suggest whoever was leading in status on turn 18, especially since he was leading for that turn and overall, and has had 2 regions for the longest time, the Dwarf.

I would love to nominate my Tyrants, but we have gotten our butts kicked lately by UN and AM.

I think the Druid has caught the Dwarf in the last 2 turns for status points, but honestly Conan has had a great game and really pushed the pace.

Use status points for winner, seems fairest way. It was put out that none of these betas would go into Valhalla anyway so it is like a preseason game.

I did verify magic resist works out side combat this turn. Both the DW and BL were able to resist a summon death spell. But not all. Those curious BL looses 3 brigades and DW looses 2 brigades to summon death.

NE
I think the NE will likely get chosen over CI most the time. On paper or rather HTML they are likely one of the top choices. They did not disappoint. I did not get to run them through all the motions as I was building up most the game and launched an attack as the game was closing. But I can tell they will have no problem holding there own. If someone did invade I would have been able to defend my home region. Where things get interesting is you have choices how much to spend on magic and how much on other things like trying to work on getting the dammed brigades to turn into zombies.
For me I felt trying to get a veteran kingdom brigade to then be able to recruit would be difficult, now that any veteran will do it is much more reasonable. The other thing is zombies are vulnerable to destroy undead but being able to get up to 15 of them by conversion is still pretty nice.
getting raise influence at level 5 also helps to make it possible to quickly build a strong political kingdom.
Basically though the NE has a very good feel as the undead master it is a very flexible kingdom and would be easy to switch focus if needed which is harder for most other kingdom.

Something for RyVor to consider. Minotaurs vs ghouls. For most kingdoms Minotaurs are one spell level sooner for NE they are the same. Looking at word stats Minotaurs are slightly better. Minotaurs add valor to the group which always helps vs fear for Ghouls that only works on kingdoms not immune. It is normally easier to find a forest PC to camp at than a swamp one. I know you plan for Minotaurs to require maintanence but I think maybe good to put them at least at equal spell level as ghouls for most kingdoms.

Minotaurs will cost 1500 food and gold per turn.

Just reviewing the kingdom dossiers and related stuff, like the Traits.  I'm pretty pleased.  I hope we get some of the old 2nd Cycle guys back to see what we can do now.

Congrats to all, was a blast... Knew I would catch the DW in status points.

Side note and not sure this is a bug or the way the program works. I didn't receive a status point award for Economic, but at the end of the turn I had food production over 100k.
