Sovereign of the Short and Stalwart Southerners,

You have my agreement to extend our NAP indefinitely and to end it only upon four months notice. To avoid future entanglements, however, I wish the Holy Ones of the West to be included as well. Does that suit you, O Ancient Aurers?

Cordially,

The Great Imperator of the Drow

My Wise Friends,

Defer entirely to you as to your own non-aggression pacts.

With that said, I think we can safely target the Dwarves in Runnimede this month, and if you can spare it, the Dwarves in Torvale once or twice (and I will also target him in Torvale once).

Best,

We are fine with a NAP. Plenty of others to worry about.

So be it.
Let the heralds proclaim an everlasting brotherhood of the Drow, Ancient Ones, Gnome and Ranger! Let the bards tune their lutes and the poets sharpen their quills ... our new alliance will triumph and all the citizens of Alamaze will finally dwell in peace and prosperity.

Hail mighty King,

Despite the fact that I was not geographically positioned to help you in your war, especially considering my tight alliance with the Gnome, I am, in fact, hoping for the best for you.  I must request my artifact back this turn per our original agreement as I am in need of it.  I believe I must pay you a sum of 10,000 gold to legally purchase it.

Perhaps one day our forces will join in cooperation on the fields of battle.

Your friend,

Good tidings Brother,

Can you spare an order and food to send some food my way?  My troops are about to go into battle with the large festering ones that inhabit Arcania, and I would like to keep morale up.  If you cannot spare the order I understand.  Summer time is harsh for us.  If you can spare it, I could use 30K+.

Will you be covering all Arcania PC's in row R and above?  Or are there any that you need me to cover?

My Liege,

I greatly desire continued peace between our two nations.  Please understand that I only do battle with the treacherous Giants because they brought it upon themselves.  They have been taking significant action against me for many months until my people were worked into a rage and demanded action.  I could not stand idly by and weather the Giant's brutish attacks against me.

I humbly ask that you stay out of the conflict as my cause is just and noble.

Your loyal vassal,
Lord Stormhand, First Ranger

Hail my friend!

I trust your endeavors are off to the greatest success.  I've heard you carefully construct words with regard to me, but I want you to rest assured, I have no plans of ever wavering in our friendship.  Along with my alliance with the noble drow, I see our pact as binding and that history will document our lasting friendship into the ages.

To the extent available to me, I will protect you in any way I can from hostile forces.  And I hope that you would do the same for me if I found myself in times of need.

Your true friend,

Friend Lothaedus,

Indeed, it is as we always hoped and believed, and we only write so carefully because we Gnomes are fussy, as the Black Dragons can attest, and thus do we treat our documentation.

We wish you well and trust we will be in communication regularly. We are especially glad to see you reclaim your Staff, as we hear reports that the Dwarves have failed to understand its use, and have thus relegated it to the ignoble status of a backscratcher, and worse.

It would not even surprise us to see the Dwarves fail to return it to you this month, but we eagerly look forward to see if he will honor his commitments and confirm to you that you should prepare the correct order, as our own actions may well change as a result.

All our best!

Greetings Bottlenose,

I am certain the dwarven king will honor his commitments.  I believe he is honorable in all his dealings and has integrity as befitting his proud people.

Best,

Good Brother,
You can always count on me. I have already submitted my orders, but I will revise them and send 30K food your way.
I would rather not say on this public forum specifically what I will be doing. When this month's actions are complete, I'll let you know what happened.
Luck to us both!

Friend Lothaedus,

Alas, I am in some ways saddened that my assessment of my natural enemy turned out to be accurate. You see, my spies inform me that not even a half-hour ago, he was about to send you a missive, and yet craven self-interest must have stayed his hand.

I have no doubt that he will strive to find some way to blame me, or perhaps use that classic children's ploy of a dog eating his Raven, but you and I will know the truth.

Sadly But Warmly,
Bottlenose
