UM,
Another error in the Order entry. I am transferring my Adept from one group to another and then having him attempt the Rite of the Magi. However, because his group number changes the 800 orders give me the following error:
SPELL #800: THERE IS NO ADEPT AVAILABLE, EITHER DOES NOT EXIST OR SOLE ACTION DONE (800 1PI NI)

You need to go to the Magic page, and find the Extra Order area, and then pull down the Adept you want to use, and pick the new group. Then you can issue an order for him.

Side note, I think Teleport and Invisible Brigade should be no higher than P4 for all Kingdoms... the Wizard Kingdoms are already strong enough, without handicapping other Kingdoms to get these spells later than P4.

DE
Weird glitch. First, slight background from last turn.
Last turn, on Turn 10 I investigated an Excellent quality Unusual Encounter. I was fortunate enough to prevail. The encounter reward was a Marshal.
However, since I had 3 leaders, the Marshal did not appear in my group. Ok so far. This left me with a couple of questions. Was the encounter still there or had it been cleared by my successful attempt? Were the guardians still there, or were they now dead?
So, this turn I looked at the square and learned that the encounter was still there (I did change the naming of the square to XX so nosy neighbors don't go to the site). According to the turn report, the Marshal is an artifact owned by the 1st DE at the square, but my group does not have it. Anyway, I am heading back there this turn with a group with fewer than 3 leaders to get the Marshal.
I am guessing there is a bug that misidentifies the Marshal as in my group since I succeeded at the encounter.

Oomph tediously inscribed his findings to parchment and
advised that the initial expense and time was well spent;
that within the area of XX something worthy of the

Excellent difficulty.

RA - Updated Impressions
I am still enjoying the Rangers, despite the Sacred Order doing its best to kick my butt three ways from Sunday. I didn't go the big military route early on, so I don't have a big enough force to go toe-to-toe with SA, and while I've done a decent job upping my wizards, I don't get regional effects until level 5. Consequently, it's been a game of cat and mouse...and the cat just caught up to the mouse.
In the meantime, I am focusing on artifact hunting. I have five wizards capable of casting both Eagle Familiar and Guarded Attack, and they are all in patrols capable of 32 points of movement. (One of those wizards is a P3 that I just got from a Superior encounter.) Searching 20 squares per turn for PCs, groups and unusual sightings is pretty sweet - in fact, I'm not sure RA will find high priestesses a worthwhile investment.
One thing I have noticed has already been mentioned in the other beta game thread - the difficulty in promoting brigades. 1RA is army-sized and has been engaged in five battles, with no promotions whatsoever. Basically, when you are this size brigades get eliminated rather than promoted. I'm working on trying the suggested strategy of making some attacks with smaller groups in order to get those promotions. Bottom-line, if you want to be able to recruit companion brigades, your early focus needs to be on getting kingdom brigades promoted. (And my personal feeling at this point is that the barriers to recruiting companion brigades are so high that you won't see it happening very much.)

This whole bloody thing is kind of silly. Maybe a factor but not a requirement. Often times you learn more from a defeat. Are we going to start requiring you to loose a battle to become elite. Just as silly. Game wise you learn less from your mistakes.
