The program updates from this weekend generated an error in today's processing. Unfortunately several hours went by before a fix was uploaded.

Just to be clear, I was not registering a complaint about processing times. I was actually confused on the processing days rotation.

I didn't see anyone else complain about processing times either, just a comment that today's was later for whatever reason and as Cipher showed, a good reason.

Just my being grumpy. I'd just say sometimes players look at turn processing as pushing a button, instead of 100 things to do, and again, there is no revenue at the current player base / pricing to get much further. It was a blessing to get Uncle Mike to do his thing, to have Lord Diamond make the fabulous new Valhalla, and for Cipher to hang in there with barely any compensation.

So, yes, Diamond and others would admonish me that customers are always right, and I'm not that good at that. But I am putting out the best game at 20% of the price of whoever is #2 is doing.

The positive side is once I can get back on schedule, once the last of the updates are in place, and the Rules updated, then we will try to get about 40 vacationing players back online, and reach out for another 50 after that. Then Ry Vor won't be grumpy.

I have never said that the customer is always right. The customer is always the customer, though, and that is worth remembering.

Please do not take any of my comments as a personal insult or as a criticism of the game 'Alamaze', which I very much enjoy. Rather, I hope that my personal insight and unique perspective may, in some way, help make 'Alamaze' more fun, a more successful financial venture, or simply more sustainable as a long-term project. Anyone who reads this post should feel completely free to ignore, disregard, scorn, implement, improve, dispute, or otherwise comment upon its content.

Based on Grasshoppers post seems 150 was not on the menu today only on our turn sheets. Hopefully it gets on to the board and is not over looked tomorrow.

But getting back on my schedule, as well as starting 5 games in a week has been a problem. We have 7 games due today and a couple players have bitched why they haven't gotten them by 6pm of that day, even if they just made the noon deadline themselves. I think most players are paying $2 a turn. Like I said, normally you are expected to pay $5 to a doorman to open a hotel door. Other PBM games are charging $10 a turn that haven't changed a thing in 20 years. Am I missing something? I am making less than minimum wage doing this instead of things I used to do, at let's just say, much higher return.

I for one greatly appreciate all you have done to provide Alamaze to us. Smile

I appreciate and am enjoying all the changes/improvements you have recently implemented. [Other than making the seas such a safe place... but I am adjusting.] Smile

I personally think there is great value in the present pricing structure and everyone should be at Imperator level to maximize both company revenue and the availability of new games for the player base.

Keep up the good work Rick!

All of these smiley faces don't really wash with your "Thanatos the Terrible" alter ego. Might I suggest the little devil emoticon instead?

As for the turn delivery- I'd be lying if I didn't think that we would have quicker and more consistent turn results with the online order entry. But that apparently is not the case. I guess I thought that the online order entry meant that the program also received the inputs automated and then could just spit the results out. Sadly it sounds as if there are still a lot of manual inputs that happen. Does this seem like something that will eventually get ironed out so we can turn Rick loose on design and improvements and not pulling levers, applying oil to old cranks and running dot matrix printer?

LOL

"Thanatos the Terrible" was an accolade/moniker awarded to me for my exploits in Fall of Rome. I still like it! Angry
