Because even a one in a million chance is still a chance. Go DuPont!!

No idea. DuPont making it until turn 9? Only if The Deliverer doesn't submit turns 7 and 8.

All hail The Deliverer, unofficial Titan Champion of Alamaze

Deliverer:

AN
TR
RA
SO
GN
EL

DuPont:

RD
GI
DE
BL
DA
WA

Leaving out the DW, UN, WI. So the Red Dragons and Gnomes are happy, while Northern Mists is a vacuum. Interesting picks!

I am of the opinion the RD is the worst kingdom besides the DW (who is an order of magnitude below the RD), so I do question taking the RD.

GI and RA as a pick perhaps would have been stronger than GI and RD, but then I'm not in the championship round.

SO is the only choice I find odd from Kevin, as I believe both the WA and WI to be superior and the south seemed very crowded at that point. WI would have been my choice there.

Overall Kevin's team seems quite a bit stronger. The troop cost for DuPont is going to be an issue and he has fewer sleep spells available to him. Kevin has a good chance to win the first two council seats, which is a big advantage.

Just curious, Kevin... why TR-RA (natural enemies) as picks 2-3 for you, instead of, say, BL-RA?

Like Dave, I also love WA quite a bit more than SO, particularly in Titan play. Better emissaries, a HP (even more important with the influence hit now), and the teleport line is great for flexibility and a 171 strategy.

There is a plan for SO, never fear. I went back and forth between WA and SO and felt that, based on my vision for the game, SO was a better fit. Obviously as the game progresses this will be a bit more evident.

I do not rate the dragon kingdoms too high in titan matches due primarily to cost, so BL did not have enough appeal. RD, in particular, I feel often goes far too early in the picks... But DuPont likely has a method to his madness. Maybe. Kinda.

Most of these games are over by turn 6 and 7, no need bothering with the north in winter.
I did learn one thing from my "mentor".

Please note that Vegas odds have DuPont through to turn 9.

I like Dupont's team better, there is a lot more flexibility with what he has right off the bat. If he goes for an early kill and lands it you are dead meat.

You like his team better yet you voted for me? So conflicted, Andy!

His only options, really, are to go for an early kill. His team doesn't pan out economically - at least not that I can see. Again, he may have a grand plan that I'm not aware of, but I think DuPont may have already painted himself into a corner. Otherwise I think if I can weather the first few turns, he's in trouble.

Setups and R0s have been emailed out, so stay tuned in for the play-by-play. Both DuPont and I love to hear our own voices, so likely there will be a lot of updates to enjoy!!
