This is my first Confluence game and I've heard some discussion about PC placement. Is there anything I should know? Are there more PC's per region in this format?

So, food and gold become less important I assume, yes?
If the number of PC's is virtually doubled are there fewer Unusual Sightings or any other ramifications that a newbie should keep in mind?

At game end my AM position had 1,000,000+ gold and no uses. Order to precious to trade with SO

I would think it would really lower the importance of both gold and food. What necessitates double PC's? Programming requirement?
