Un-sign up. It's appears to be a broken kingdom. You wouldn't play the DE if the Princes all of a sudden stopped being able to gate.

Yes, a broken kingdom! Run! What does 25 years of history mean?

Out of all the comments you decide to chime on on mine? I'm not attacking you personally. There's a lot of data here that suggest a problem, and a problem with a kingdoms special orders that make it unique and balances the kingdoms against the others.

I'm not attacking the game, I'm not attacking anything, I suggested he wait and play when the issue is addressed in any way.
I did learn one thing from my "mentor".

Oye. The Underworld seems to be doing alright in Valhalla. In the first 9 completed Steel games they have a Gold and a Silver. They seem a popular selection. They certainly are a different style of play. I remember how hard it was to create them about 25 years ago. The Underworld seems to have been ok until this thread, and now innuendo is its not a viable kingdom? Wynter - cumulative effect, nothing personal.

Rick. Are you seriously trying to claim that either:

1) The early kidnap function is working just fine; or
2) It's unreasonable for an UN player to be a bit, well, unhappy, disappointed, or otherwise put out by the prospect that the early kidnap function is NOT working just fine?

Perhaps I will just ask you this. I have made a case based on data and statistics -- NOT innuendo, and your very use of this negative word is a bit revealing, in my opinion -- that the early kidnap function has a problem. Do you intend to investigate this and let us know what the resolution is?

Thank you for your time and consideration of this request.

I am telling you I can't be directed by your agenda. Peace.

And what, pray tell, do you think my agenda is, except to request some hopefully reasonable level of customer service, alert you to issues, and improve the game? Particularly in light of the fact that I've provided multiple referrals (out of many more solicitations to friends and acquaintances), written a glowing article in the PBEM magazine, and spent even more time on volunteer data crunching for you here and elsewhere?

I'm not asking for a medal, special favors, or even a thank you, really. But you yourself said that you and the team expect respect. I expect the same thing as a player and customer and member of the community. And I have to be honest, after "innuendo" and "agenda" and your responses here dismissing what is apparently a real and present issue affecting numerous players, I'm not really perceiving that respect.

I have maybe 100 things I should still be doing for Alamaze here at 7pm Eastern Thursday night, a day that was set aside for development and so the one not for operational issues.

Looking into what stats say on the success rate of the UN special order for early kidnapping is probably in the top 100 somewhere, that's about it. That's what I mean. I am setting the agenda for Alamaze, based on what I feel is best for it, and that means prioritizing all issues, with let's say, limited human resources. Don't take it personally that something happening to one of your positions that doesn't seem quite right means I have it in for you. And meanwhile, don't demean the customer service that is unprecedented and unsurpassed in this hobby.

I'm still happy to play the UN...I'll just focus on KILLING emmissaries instead of kidnapping them. :-)

I um..,I don't think anyone here had any desire to attack or demean anyone. We, the players, saw what we thought was a discrepancy in a special order (one that gets used a lot less frequently than the regular order it replaces) and tried to gather data to present that maybe there was a problem and someone should take a peek at it. I don't think we expected that to be done instantly (I certainly didn't), we were just trying to be helpful. Honestly, the game is complicated, and I know the code for it has to be. Errors can happen. Heck, changes in one part of the code can have an effect on another that you didn't expect at all (I know this from having done software QA for some years). It happens - did it happen here? We don't know. We're just trying to help.

HH, I sent you my data. I DID have one success, but got caught and killed - and so the guy escaped anyhow.

I'm going to review the kidnap. Both the regular order and the early UN special use the same engine, so the results should be the same either way - but I think the commentary has focused on the UN, maybe since other kidnappings are rarely attempted.

Keep in mind that unlike assassination, where Agent success means the target is dead - whether the agent gets away or not - in kidnapping the Agent has to be Successful AND get away clean for a successful kidnap. So if you had a 70% success and 35% caught, your net chance would be .7 * .65 = 45.5% (only applicable beforehand, once a number is actually created...well you know).

Yes, but if you succeed and get caught you get a different message, so we can tell what happened.
