#31
Game 501 has been officially started. Turn 0 files were emailed around 8:30am EST. Let me know if you didn't receive yours.

I got my Halflings and I am thrilled! Will you be sending out an updated 3rd Cycle rulebook?

Please do not take any of my comments as a personal insult or as a criticism of the game 'Alamaze', which I very much enjoy. Rather, I hope that my personal insight and unique perspective may, in some way, help make 'Alamaze' more fun, a more successful financial venture, or simply more sustainable as a long-term project. Anyone who reads this post should feel completely free to ignore, disregard, scorn, implement, improve, dispute, or otherwise comment upon its content.

For this game, I left the pc random generator logic the same as before but I've already changed it for the upcoming Beta game to avoid any "nooks" or other statistical anomalies from happening. So enjoy those nooks for the last time JF Smile

Ry Vor has that but you may use the attached notes from the first post of: http://kingdomsofarcania.net/forum/showt...7#pid32497

Okay, so essentially the same as from the pre-Alpha. Thanks.

Since this is a friendly, noncompetitive game, I'll share the kingdom setups to everyone as we did during the pre-Alpha test.

Although I am trying to be open minded about using just the new order checker and the parser, I am running into minor frustrations. My biggest frustration with the order checker is that it is much more difficult to track the finances with it than with my trusty spreadsheet. I don't want to use both of them, as that defeats the purpose, but it is a consideration. This is my only complaint with the otherwise OUTSTANDING order checker.

I am getting errors using the parser for this game. I would be interested to learn whether or not others are as well. I attached the particular error.

Make sure that you're using the latest Banana Parser program which should load the 3rd Cycle files properly. I didn't have any issues loading all 12 kingdom turn 0 reports using his latest version.

Regarding the website, the message area is exactly the same as before so you can check your food/gold amounts that's listed on nearly every line.

I don't like that you cannot move between tabs without saving the orders.

Checking the food and gold amounts is not the same as what I have now. I am going to send you the Excel I used for a recent game.

The new parser worked. I hadn't realized that the version I downloaded a couple weeks ago was out of date.

Yes, download the latest version of the parser from the normal link: http://fallofromegame.com/alamazeorders/...sergui.exe

I'll take a look at your Excel calculator and investigate the Hobbit Trading building issue that you reported to support.

To everyone, keep in mind that the only new spells that are functional at this time are the "summon troop" category of:

93 - Instant Summon Phantoms
112 - Raise Zombies
860 - Summon Minotaurs
861 - Summon Skeletons
862 - Summon Ghouls
863 - Summon Wights
864 - Summon Specters
865 - Summon Rock Golems

The other new spells won't work yet. I'm currently coding new tactics (like Flanking) then I'll start working on the new spells. So don't try to cast a new spell until I give notice which may be in a couple of weeks or so (perhaps by turn 4 or 5).
