137 - Exploratory Primeval with Twists

Um - the chart does not take into consideration a naughty BL Baron who is maintaining SQ in the city.

(BL) Not a lot to report from my angle. With one region in my pocket, I am moving towards another. We'll see how long it takes me to pick it up - I've an outside chance of getting in next turn if everything breaks my way. I was amused to see the HC remain with only two members because of a tied bid. I'm wondering if the bid was for 1 gold? Otherwise, it seems to me that the odds of a tie are really low. I guess Dusi really didn't want to overpay in this game.
The DW and GI take their home regions - I see now why the EL did not - either his spies didn't tell him about the pesky Baron or it escaped his Majesty's notice when perusing the report. He'll get back his people when he (eventually) take the city of course, but this will put him behind. I do think the BL has a bit of an advantage in this area. If the game stays in this format, I vote the BL's starting village is moved from 5 to 9.

Oh wow. I'm so out of it that thought didn't even cross my mind. Well played sir. And I knew I shouldn't have joined another game.. damnit. I need to get back on my game.

(DW): As my winged friend noted, the hard-working miners of the mountains have managed to take their region and are moving, quick as a rolling boulder, toward another region. Again, like dark avians to south, there's an outside chance that region might fall under our control this turn.

Strange things are certainly afoot at the HC as matching bids....

(DW): Luck was with me this turn as the cookies crumbled my way and was able to pick up my second region, negating--for a turn--the southern production advantages of BL and GN. In other news, the 4GI brigade has paid a visit to the starting DW village in Northern Mists. Hopefully the GI is just there to pick up some of the renowned dwarven ale for his continued journey north....

(BL) Luck was not with me as I cluelessly put '350' in a bunch of places I wanted to put '330' and wasted half a dozen orders. At least in a game like this, that's not as bad as it might have been - nobody else is going to get those pop centers because I blew it this turn. And I have enough gold coming in to do what I wanted to do this turn, anyway. It does put me back a bit, but as the only one who has gotten their second region is the North-dwelling Dwarf, it will work out.

(GI) My insane bad luck in this game is continuing in subtle ways as I've lost two level 1 agents via recon in 5 turns. I won't calculate the odds on that as it's near impossible and I will hear the inevitable "it's possible". Just like when I lost a level 17 agent as the UN kidnapping an envoy, or a level 14 agent kidnapping a level 1 agent, or when I was the Red Dragon and capture a town that had 11 emissaries in it and I capture 1 out of 11, or when 2 darkelf adepts died doing the rite of the magi.

Anyway. Giant stopped for a drink at a DW village.
