It is my opinion that this is not a real safe strategy unless you plan to put a WARD on that emmy.
Your opponent can sleep the baron the turn they move in a group to 171 the PC.
You might not prevent a 171 even with the Baron if your opponent has a powerful enough wizard or a strong group.
I disagree, this is a good standing order, as long as he is just sitting there he might as well maintain, it's impossible to get a skeleton on an emmy that has performed an action for the turn.

Valid point. Just didn't want him to be surprised when what I described occurred.

Good point!

If you can keep a wizard in one place then 799 could be good for several turns if you want to advance him fast.
I suppose it could be useful to could raise an emissary from Governor to prince with a standing order as well.
801 is the special 799 order you use when you have the Artifact called "The Stone of the Minds" which reduces magic research costs

Very nice thread, folks! Full of good thoughts and info.
In 3rd Cycle, Diplomacy Spell (#171) will be less powerful.

I'm not sure I understand this. Why would it randomize which is done? If you issue to 3 different Agent 1's wouldn't all 3 970's work every turn? Or do you mean 3 970's to one agent only but each order with a different recon area?

3 different 970's to each of 3 different agents, so random looks at 9 pop centers.... Might be cool to try that.

Yeah, Daredevil caught my meaning - sorry I wasn't more clear. I've never tried this but it's something I occasionally think about.

That will probably eat up all your standing orders.

Yeah, you only get 7 if you control 1 region, I think. But I never get close to using them all, so I might still play around with the idea. 1 agent with 3 recon orders wouldn't break the bank in most of my games.
