Just submitted my first turn. Some observations:

1. The players and this forum have been incredibly helpful!

2. I didn't make note of the fact that turns were due "at noon". I saw the due date, and erroneously assumed it meant by the end of the day. I suggest making the due date one day earlier, and allowing a grace period up until noon the next day. It helps time-challenged people like me.

3. I found I had to have many windows open at the same time to even ATTEMPT to get this first set of orders drafted:
- general rules
- order formats
- map
- "sample first turn" posted in the forum
- emails from other players
- player "turn zero"
- special setup sheet for Giants
- charts

And of course my order sheet. I haven't even drafted my private game-log. Next turn I will plan to draft orders at LEAST a day in advance.

It gets much easier. Most of my issues come from typos but getting an online order submission program up and running will be a huge help.

This pretty much sums up what I had to do also. I had about 5 windows open, power point open and the spreadsheet. I made the mistake of waiting until Thursday night of really delving into the rulebook and commands list to figure out what I wanted to do. Oh well, the next turn should be easier!

Most players also avail themselves of a telescope and a sextant.

You guys weren't expecting Angry Birds, were you? Cool
