all combat spells that work in or just before to effect combat should be able to dispel.  so spells like dispel, instant summon phantom, summon death, kill undead should be able to be dispelled.  also all spells that effect combat spells or are cast in combat should require at least a brigade of troops to cast I would say except summon phantom of course.

another special note kill undead has a order number below summon phantom is, so based on order number it is not possible to kill phantoms.  because they are undead they are not killed with summon death.  perhaps even though it is spell lower number have it take effect with summon death time frame.

I would think weapon artifacts could just add to moral similar to valor.   that could be an easy fix.

As a player, I would like special effects added to the new brigade types as mentioned here http://www.kingdomsofarcania.net/forum/s...2#pid62822

As the programmer, I don't want to change the order entry website because some players have problems clearing their browser cache or something else comes up and they are unable to pick up the updated version. So let's keep the suggestions to run-time effects only so I would only have to change the main game engine software without any website changes.

About the dispel magic situation, sequence ordering would have to be arranged without changing the website. I can execute dispel magic before any other spell without changing its sequence number (so essentially cheating by executing dispel magic earlier in the turn than it should) but players would have to choose the "ANY" option when casting the dispel magic spell (see attachment). If Rick wants to preserve the sequence numbering system, I'll have to change the numbers for dispel magic and perhaps other spells/orders which will require changing the website and I don't want to do that this time around for the above mentioned reasons and lack of time.

On another note, I would like to fix the turn 0 seapower values so that the Pirates and Atlantians don't get quality 16 ships on turn 1. That may include denying certain kingdoms like the PI/AT in not being able to select the naval quality boost as a kingdom customization option.

Just an idea, and likely too significant for this update... but I'd find it interesting if PCs could have heroes. Perhaps a random mage that lives in the city comes to it's defense. Something to add some variability and make it a bit less about a spreadsheet. The higher the population of the PC, the more likely to have 1 or more "heroes". I also think the original idea was to be able to stage some garrisoned troops around. I'd like that too.

Perhaps a spell such as Windstorm could be capped? Maybe something like:

The conjurer calls to the heavens and a gale force wind sweeps across the
battlefield, disrupting missile phases in that enemy long and short range archery is
reduced upto 50% (15% at level 3 + 5% per additional level) while friendly is only reduced 12.5%. This spell may be cast against
population centers. Windstorm has a damage reduction cap of 2000 per level of the caster

one new Maelstrom handbook please. like the first cycle, all wrapped up into one. (minus the manilla envelope)
the rules are all over this board and it takes a long time to find things.

just the rules and commands. advice, questions, fun stuff still in the forum.

or a link to this if you have it already

Yep, it's right there on the log in page under Help Guides, or once you are in the Order Entry site you can easily access all materials including 4th Cycle Release Notes, rules, maps, player aids under "3rd Cycle Documents" at the bottom center.

I agree Wind Storm is overpowered and should be nerfed a little, but at the same time with legendary castles available something needs to be done on those. I suggest that Siege be allowed for PC's in two conditions:

1) Warlord can siege any PC as long as their value vs pc is > 150% of PC value
2) Kingdoms with Siege Engineering trait same as above

something like that would help restore some balance

Separately I believe getting rid of the locate character spell has harmed the game. I would just increase it to level 6+ which kills off the early usage.

For years I have asked that pc's be able to hold leaders and mages similar to groups (with the same bonuses applied to PC defense). I still think this is an obvious enhancement that would greatly benefit the game. Groups defeat PC's all the time because of the huge bonuses they get from leaders and wizards not from the troops (not as much).

Would it not be easier to change the PC defense, where the greatest amount isn't in the archery phase of battle? Maybe spread more evenly through each phase of battle? Adding the kingdoms traits and combat modifiers to population, for a controlling kingdom would make those population fight according to the ruling kingdoms modifiers? Just curious, it may already do this.

What "things"?  And I feel Wind Storm is overpowered, especially against PC's.  How PC battles are resolved is different as most know from force v force battles, and the two missile phases are critical to PC defense.

I agree windstorm is overpowered.
