Thanks, we're good with the above. I'm thinking a couple other players could name PC's as well. Draugr, Imperial Tark?

In The Choosing, we have over 200 village and town names that rotate. They are categorized by terrain rather than whether town or village. Obviously, these rotate in and out of any game for freshness as we don't have that many PC's - it averages about 1 PC in around 7 areas, and with 676 areas and around a dozen cities. that leaves around 85 towns and villages.
In Maelstrom, the character of regions are different from one another. The largest regions may have a dozen PC's, the smaller ones possibly 7, excluding Stormgate, which has just the capital city in Maelstrom of Stormgate and the village Cornucopia. In general as you can tell from the map, the corner regions - the geographically easier to defend - are smaller in Maelstrom. There are other regional advantages - the largest start with somewhat higher influence as they will be harder to get and keep control of, those without seas have been more focused on armies (say), and may start with a veteran or even elite unit or two. We'll retain maybe 20% of the town and village names from Resurgence (none of the city names), the rest will be new. We do have Ballsville, Draugr's Crypt, Ohman's Haven as well as Heartless Pass, retaining Dusi's Harbor and adding Gura's Grove on the list.

This is looking like it may actually happen.
New kingdoms are the furthest away in terms of development as I don't think we need them to do all else we have with Maelstrom, so focus has been on the more immediate stuff. Most likely of the new kingdoms are The Azyrians, a human kingdom already in The Maelstrom continent that have established a deep culture of philosophy embracing mysticism, magic, and a kingdom with no obvious weakness. Other possibilities include The Black Knights of Styx. Those who believe strength rules through the exploitation by the strong of the weak. they seek to rival the Sacred Order in their might on the battlefield, and tip the balance with The Damned and their converted: the undead. The Lycans are one with unlimited time and development effort I'd like to do, but likely more complex than the Underworld or Demon Princes, probably not going to happen. The last I throw in as a possibility with others such as The Ants and others discarded, are The Eagle Riders, which would be the only non-dragon flying military. |
