The mobility of the Red Dragon is unmatched by any other kingdom.

This kingdom is capable of functioning in any region to support its teammates.

Also, RD is the most formidable military -- until high level wizards come into their own.  Since Draugr indicated that Titan contests often last only 9 turns or so, the chance of having P9s to destroy Red Dragon military forces is unlikely.

Other highly mobile kingdoms cannot bring an equivalent military force to bear with that mobility.

These are my thoughts on selecting RD first.

SO and DE

SO
Strongest Mage getting many of the most impoartant spells a turn earlier than even other pure mages. Summon death, dome and scandle at P5. Also having unveil PC like all pure mages at P5 is good in pegan. Extra wizard and Agents. Ambassadors act like governors due to orator.

DE
Starting with 3 gating princes when no other kingdoms even have 1 plus all emmies immune to sleep. DE can really be a headache for an opponent.

I prefer all kingdoms being available for selection (I agree that TY will not be available for selection.)

Let's try Pagan.

No Ice Age.

Fixed cities.

No +4 orders.

RA - This is a very strong kingdom located in an horrendous location. Far too often the RD expands in Arcania, and that won't happen this contest. The location does allow the RA to coordinate within the six regions surrounding Arcania, which I hope is a boon. And two cities are present in Arcania, which factored into my selecting this kingdom.

GN.

Perhaps not the strongest kingdom remaining but a solid one and with a set plan to beat the RD by UM the GN should be able to hold his own. Very likely the HA will not get drafted leaving the GN to only worry about a possible RD attack. The extra gold the GN starts with being in a southern region are assets for a titan contest. I also view the GN just a hair below the pure mages in magic strength and perhaps even above some that do not have access to the summon undead spells.

Dark Elves start in the south, possess lots of kingdom traits, magic Mastery, and good political advantages. I also like placing this kingdom right next to my Rangers in Arcania. The Sea of Drowning makes early invasion a bit tricky with RA allied (except for DE) so there should be opportunity to control Synisvania early.
