The problem really is the RD. However, if you toughen up the DW against them too much, then that just means the GN gets hammered by the RD. I do like the idea of making the withdraw order better, but that just means that the RD takes the population centers anyway. Start them out with the short name AND location of the Axe of Farin. Maybe give them 1 more brigade of troops to start out.

That is true the RD could take the PC but the DW could also stay in the square and the RD could not move or the DW could 150 or 171 the PC back.

I do agree this will put more pressure on the GN. Really anything that helps the DW is going to do that somewhat.

If the RD doesn't attack the DW the Region is pretty much going to be uncontested for quite awhile/if at all.

The GN still has to deal with UN/TR and other early expansion possibilities regardless what the RD does. The GN loses a protracted war with nearly all of it's neighbors IMO.

I think the RD attacks the DW most often because there are more compelling reasons not to attack the GN/WI. If the RD takes the Region then similar to the DW it should not be an expansion area for awhile if at all for other kingdoms. The 2 positions are probably evenly matched in Region 3 but the RD has way more strategic options overall.
