745 REST GROUP

Order #745 REST GROUP states:

"This order allows a group which has not been involved in any other group activity (ie, combat, assuming defensive posture, parley, sieging, recruiting or training troops, transfers, movement, ambush, etc.) and is located in a kingdom controlled town or city, to partake in some R&R. The group to undertake the rest cannot have been issued either Order #225 or Order #230 in the current game turn. Also, there can be no unallied groups in the same area as the group ordered to rest. The effect of this order is to raise the morale of the group by 5 points in a town or 7 points in a city., Morale cannot be raised above 120 in this manner. This order can only be used one time per turn per group. NOTE: Care should be taken to realize that as this order (and benefits) takes place prior to special magical movement, like teleport spells, that should the group rest, it will not move."

Does an order like #799 Magic Research qualify as a 'group activity'? Or can you Rest Group and have your wizards perform Magic Research in the same turn?

I would hate for a 745 order to nullify a 799 order...

I actually don't know the answer to that. Try it on the order checker and see if it gives you an error.

Doesn't give me an error. But who knows, maybe the order checker could be wrong every now and then.

Groups have to be fed and paid appropriately to rest with order 745.

I would find it hard to sleep if paycheck doesn't clear and I didn't get fed. I imagine I would just lay around doing nothing, but it just isn't quality rest.

It's right there directly stated in The Commands for Rest #745:

"The group to undertake the rest cannot have been issued either Order #225 (do not feed) or Order #230 (do not pay) in the current game turn."

Absolutely correct, but Sinestro was asking about the situation where he didn't have the food to give the troops (and thus he isn't issuing order 225).

So the result here is logical, and can be inferred from the rules, but isn't explicit (and apparently isn't caught by the order checker).

It's just one of those "pesky details" situations.

Yes Headhoncho is correct. This is what I was asking.

If you Don't put in the order 225, It will allow you to rest your group without any errors.

I will change my order though. Figured something was wrong with it.
