Here you go guys, Im not the best writer
The last game of the 3rd cycle started very odd, before the game had gone long, some wizard I suspect the villainous Necro Dupont, cast a spell which rolled time back and erased my perfect starting town in the water. Being surrounded by all wizardly types was rather interesting, so I decided to put all my effort into generating resources and figured to be out by turn 10 or be in the running for the top spot. I moved my capital early to the water in the event the Dragons overran my east most neighbor, which never happened nice job Dupont! My capital was quickly built to a fairly impressive status at the expense of starving my troops on numerous occasions (sorry guys, greater good and all), and started looking for someone to fight. Not wanting to sacrifice my wizards to the UN, and with the Illusionist "falling" to the CI, I figured it was attack or be attacked by the CI.
Having discovered the IL hidden capital pretty early in the game being on the tip of the region in my area, so once the CI had run IL into his sanctuary I launched my attack. Hoping to remove his ability to create ships and easily attack my region.
Fast forward to turn 26 and my capital was kicking out 365k gold and 230k food. The wizard count was 7 (p6) and 4 (P5), groups were mostly equipped with enhanced armor and Brek the builder was on the move. Krynn had fallen and I was moving to eradicate the CI in his homeland. Unbeknownst to me the Ranger had also launched an assault on the CI in my glacial move north, so we had a few fights in the northern region, I dropped a few regionals in the area, and he seemed to depart with not much fighting. I later realized him and the AN were fighting and had nothing to do with my battle prowess, very disappointing. I then took a few turns to build my regions up thinking the AM or NE might invade if I grabbed another region. Once they both engaged other people I went for my fourth region, continuing to build up all my towns/cities etc. behind me to make up points but also intentionally laying low to not make myself a target. In the final few turns I simply stole Zanthia from the AN/RA and considered going for Stormgate for the 5 region win but had made a few critical errors taking Krynn, like forgetting to issue attack on 2 towns, so I went full build mode after the point tally of turn 36.
In the end hat off to all!
Pine, wish we could have had more fights, but then again glad we didn’t, CI are beastmode!
Rellgar, damn man you are like a super cockroach, multiple times I thought, leave him alone then BAM you pop up and start taking stuff or simply blowing it up, eventually had to say screw it and leave you alone. Pretty impressive group you fielded at the end with almost no resources the entire game nice job man!
Dupont, Always the man who won’t die, learned that too many times, Red dragons or not. I really did expect you to topple by turn 7-8 and to see dragons in my region so thanks for doing you and saving me!!
Eregnon, Just like Pine, wish we had actually had more an opportunity to fight, but to be honest, I tried to avoid you and played “wizardly” dropping domes and regionals, not much a military can do against a mage kingdom in the end, 5(p7) and 6(p6).
Wookie, Just glad you stayed in your corner, I assumed you were building like me, and it’s nice not to have to fight you for once, and you giving some of other guys a chance to win once in a while.
